You do not need to write poetry to have a muse. And, you do not need a muse to write poetry...

Poetry my friend, comes from you. The "muse" is you. Yourself. Your feelings and thoughts. It is not a NEED to think about anybody else to write poetry.

Poetry comes from your heart.

All you need, is listen to your heart.

i really don't care about the down rating, by the way. well, except the 1 i received from a former coven-mate who bombed me on his way out the door.

that's class.

i don't quite understand the 1's i received on THE DAY i set up my account last october. i hadn't even finished typing anything. and there it is - a ONE. i suppose i could track the VR members down and request a re-rate, but i don't have time to micromanage my ego. i'll save it for a rainy day.

besides, i don't care enough to make an appeal...or to go groveling for something -- even if that something is fairness.

and then there's the Drama.

i have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to drama. i won't add to it here.

i will only state again; i do not care about the ratings.

ya know, it's a funny thing.

the 1s and 2s i can attribute to laziness and mean-spiritedness. This to me is oddly comforting. it's the speed and efficiency of Not Thinking. it's very American.

like i said, it's comforting.

predictable.

i think it's the 5s that are most honest, and thus, potentially more harmful.

it's a perfectly fair rating.

and thus, a stamp of mediocrity.

so why is that such a downer?

Most new members get a 5 from me. I figure, their profile could get better, or worse. If they ask me to update my rate, it gets done.

People with "im hott and sexi but im wit sum1 so u can look but dont touch" get a 1...They're idiots, if that's how they describe themselves, that's retarded.

People like to be mean to newcomers...It's nothing new.

I always felt it a waste of time to run around tracking down members. Isn't it more lazy to give someone a low rating when you know they are not finished, rather than wait till they are and then rate them. Giving a low rate to anyone that has only been here a few days is just ridiculous. It shows how lazy the rater is not the person with the new profile.

I've always asked this question myself. I mean, ok, you don't like their profile, I don't like their profile. But it wasn't made for you or me. It was made to the taste of its owner. To me, that's a 10 in itself. Unless it's some dumwit who has an empty profile and spends his time here harassing the girls of VR.

i'm considering a premium membership.

not for the aesthetic reasons; i don't think i'm interested in changing my profile or theway ot works (some people should NOT be in charge of designing a website)...but for the more practical reasons; visitor tracking, embedded tags, video, more pics, etc.

thoughts?

any input would be appreciated.

lol How's that for input? In all seriousness, I would definitely recommend going Premium. Once you do, you'll feel naked without it. Even if you don't change your profile much, you'll still have other perks. I have a Lifetime Membership and I'm not a bit sorry. :)

Oh, and I'm adding your journal to my Favs, btw. ;)

i'm happier when i don't watch the news.

of course, then i don't know what's going on. Ever. people accuse me of being in a bubble.

they may have a point.

Now....it can be argued that what we call "the news" really isn't useful information, and it can be argued, still, that all you need in life is a daily weather forecast and last night's sports re-cap...

and possibly a traffic update.

so, yes, ignorance really IS bliss.

I have been told by Spiritualist...mediums and many. To watch the news brings negativity to start out one's day.

no tv news for me either. if i feel the random urge to learn something I'll either use the internet or word of mouth.

yahoo is actually kinda useful for updates on whats happening in the world.

but thats just my opinion.

If you watch the news where are the suprises? (that was the most posative thing I could think of.) I can sort the weather looking out the window or better yet the door. Where I grew up the weather report was good for a few hours at best. I've lived in the same flat for just short of 5 years and I couldn't name the freeway(?) 3 blocks away. I'm "directionally challenged" for a girl. I see a lot of cool stuff and it is a happy ride till I realize I'm lost.
